Statement

Alicia explores themes related to self-representation, gender, and migration processes in Latin America, unearthing feelings of grief and alienation. Through the use of archives and collage, she creates new meanings around rupture and identity. As a migrant herself, she experiences a constant sense of shifting between cultures, which is reflected in her artistic practice. Her work seeks to craft poetic ways of preserving memory, safeguarding recollections, and building bridges between the past and the present.
